The Rule Breakers

Book Review No. 1 -
Name of the Book: The Rule Breakers
Author: Preeti Shenoy
Publisher: Westland Books
Pages: 321

Story Unfolds :

Main Characters :

1) Veda - An Ambitious girl, who gives up on her dreams for the happiness of her parents, because she did not want to hurt her parents.

2) Suraj - A Attractive, charming and the most chocolaty boy of college, who has an emotional and tragic past. He finds a sweet, caring friend in Veda.

3) Kanika - She is the exact opposite of Veda. She rules her life. Her motto in life is "My rules, My life".

4) Ron - Ron is the character who meets Veda in another country. A foreigner friend, who eventually turns out to be Kanika's friend also. Although a short role, but a very important role.

There comes a situation in everyone's life where you need to break the rules, otherwise, the rule might break you.
The girls rushed inside and found their mother in the kitchen with Paro didi. The delicious aromas of all kinds of savories wafted from the kitchen. They could see that whoever was coming was important, judging by the culinary preparations that were underway.
One of the siblings said 'Ma, why should didi wear a saree?' demanded Vidya.
we are expecting visitors, you both go and change into nice clothes. Veda goes and wear that chiffon saree of your graduation. Wear my jewelry too. I don't want to get married "ma".
But ma- Veda tried to reason with her. But her mother wasn't having any of it.
As rightly said by Preeti Shenoy, "  There are two kinds of people in this world :
i ) Those who follow the rules.
ii ) Those who do not think twice about breaking them.

This book is entirely dedicated to the females of India. For all the girls who want to dream, but could not dream because of the mentality of their parents, that girls should be married after attaining the age of 18.
The book talks about sibling Bonding, Friendship, Trust, Dream etc.

CRUX - The story unfolds about how the main protagonist VEDA steps out of her comfort zone and breaks the rules and rediscover herself.
Preeti Shenoy like always delivers yet again a masterpiece, which is highly recommended to everyone especially the girls.

My rating for the book is - 4.5/5
The conceptualization and narration were a bit long but still, it gives u enough fuel to read the whole book.

The book cover looks really nice, especially the Red Dupatta, which symbolizes the girls fear of left alone. My rating for the book cover is 4/5.

Platform available : Amazon, Flipkart and E-book in Amazon as Kindle.
